Sai College, Bhilai believes that Games and Sports play a major role in the development of personality of a student. Facilities for various indoor and outdoor games like Cricket, Volleyball, Handball, Football, Table tennis, Badminton, Carromboard, Chess etc are available. The College is planning to develop a multi station state of the art Gymnasium with expert trainers in the campus.
Sai College organises an Annual Picnic for students & staff. Consent of parents is mandatory for participation in the picnic.
Apart from academic activities Sai College believes in motivating students in various cultural events. Mass participation is encroached in college annual function.
Sai College acknowledges, the students excellence in academics, sports, cultural events by giving awards & certificates. Cash awards under Sudesh Memorial Scholarship Scheme are given to meritorious students to motivate them.
(Sai College is running NSS Unit successfully. Activities under the banner of NSS unit give exposure to the youth to transform themselves with the interchanging ideas and personal development It also helps to create social awareness among the students which help them in their career. Activities like tree plantation, Environment protection day, World AIDS day, Blood Donation Camp, Village Service, free eye checkup and donation camp etc are conducted under the banner of NSS.
Exhaustive special sessions are organized to train the students to face and get through the high recruitment procedures like interviews, group discussions etc with special emphasis on Personality Development and latest techniques of Communication Skills required to achieve success. Lectures of expert from various fields are conducted regularly, aimed at the overall development of the students and to meet their queries. Series of extra-curricular activities are arranged at regular intervals to browse the hidden talent among the students and also to bring out, the best of them.
As per the guidelines of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India : Broadly speaking Ragging is : any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken, written or by act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness of any other student, indulging in rowdy or in disciplined activities which cause or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or junior student or asking the students to do any act or perform something, which such student will not do in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student.
The cause of indulging in ragging is deriving a sadistic pleasure or showing of power, authority by the seniors over their juniors or freshers. Ragging in any form is strictly banned in Sai College, Bhilai and any one indulging in ragging is likely to be punished appropriately. Punishment may include taking legal action against the student, expulsion from the college, suspension from the college or classes for a limited period or fine with a public apology. The punishment may also take a shape of withholding scholarships or other benefits, debarring from representation in events, withholding results and suspension or expulsion from hostel and the like. If the individuals committing or abetting ragging are not identified , collective punishment could be resorted to act as a deterrent punishment and to Ensure collective pressure on the potential raggers. Each student is required to Sign and Undertaking in this regard.
